On Saturday 19th January, the Haven Arms in Hedon held a bridal fair. It was a cold winter’s day and snow covered the ground but once inside there was a warm and friendly atmosphere and approximately 15 stalls were beautifully laid out displaying everything a couple might need for their wedding.
Amongst them was a a venue stylist, a photographer, wedding rings and gifts for the mothers of the bride/groom and bridesmaids, a hypnotherapist (to help with the stress of the day), a pyrotechnician (for fireworks during the evening celebrations), a hairdresser, a beautician, a florist, clothing stylists, handmade wedding stationary and of course beautiful wedding gowns.
But the spotlight today falls on Lucy Beal Cakery, wedding cake specialist.
Lucy bakes beautiful cakes for all occasions at her home in Preston. With help from husband Stuart and their two children, Georgina and Matthew, it is very much a family run business with everyone joining in to help deliver Lucy’s masterpieces to wedding fairs etc.
Lucy has had a passion for baking since she was five and would help her mum in the kitchen. She used to work in Topshop but decided on a career change when her daughter Georgina needed special care.
She bakes, ices and decorates all the cakes herself so you know you’re getting that personal touch. All her wonderful creations are made with free-range eggs and homemade jams when possible and customers also have an input into what they’d like their cake to look like.
As well as making celebration cakes, Lucy also makes cupcakes and wedding favors. She is a very busy lady and if you would like her to make your day that extra bit special, please book at least a month in advance so as not to be disappointed.
Prices vary so please contact her on 01482 899980 or info@lucybealcakery.co.uk
Lucy is fully registered and has her food hygiene certificate and insurance.
