Fireworks Burst - Haven 2011-001THE BIRTH of New Year 2013 is being celebrated in the local pubs.

It’s Black Tie and Tiara at The Station again – ticket only available from the pub in advance – with a free light buffet supper. Revellers should note that the pub will be closed for one hour from seven till eight to get tidied up for the evening celebrations. It will be a “Good old-fashioned New Year’s Eve at your local” says Jackie at the pub.

The Shakespeare Inn is a ticket only affair and will be setting up their Celebration Marquee. 7-piece band Rough Cut will be providing the entertainment and there will be an early evening disco too. There is an optional dress-code of black-tie or fancy dress. Tickets cost £15 which includes one free drink.

On New Years Eve at the Haven Arms there is a formal ball (black tie optional) with a 5-course meal (click for menu) and champagne on arrival for £45 per person (limited availability). Entertainment is from Dan Furniss followed by a disco into the small hours.

In the Haven Arms bar there will be “the usual free-for-all” says Mark at the pub “with disco music – all welcome – no entry fee”.
