THE LOCAL BOXING WORLD will be closely watching the WBC lightweight title fight tonight between Hull’s Tommy Coyle and Portugal’s Antonio Juan Bento – the Hedon Blog obviously wishes Tommy – nicknamed “Boom, Boom” – all the best in his fight.
However, Hedon residents might be interested to know that ‘one of our own’ will be singing the National Anthem in honour of Tommy and the country tonight!
11-year-old Jaimie-Leigh Smithson from Hedon is the town’s new singing-sensation! Jaimie has got through to the final stages of the Open Mic UK national talent competition! She will be performing in Dewsbury Town Hall on Saturday 24th November 2012 in the Live Shows – Area Finals.
But it’s Jaimie’s appearance tonight at the Hull City Hall which will result in her biggest audience to date!
The Hedon Blog and residents across the town will be following Jaimie’s singing career with much interest – and if you want to know how good Jaimie is – then listen to her sing Black Heart by Stooshe at the Regional Finals in Leeds.
(Ongoing story – find out more in the Holderness Gazette on Thursday 8th November 2012)
…Tommy Coyle won his fight in the first 52 seconds… by the way!
