I like this!

THE FANTASIA MINIATURE SOCIETY make a welcome return to Hedon Museum today.

Expect the exhibition to delight children and adults alike as the world is re-imagined in miniature!

At their last visit to Hedon in 2010, as well as the miniature houses and Victorian terrace, one of the exhibits was a miniature recreation of the Preston Village Show (albeit in a Hall, rather than a Marquee) complete with miniature cakes, flowers and vegetables.

Local crafts artist Helen Davison from Preston visited the exhibition in 2010 and wrote on her All things arty Blog at the time:

“I would urge anyone with young children to go and have a look – or any of you with an interest in hand-made crafts of any kind. The tiles on the roof of most of the terraced houses, for instance, are mostly made of pieces of cardboard, painted individually and stuck on.

Another of my favourite pieces was the replica of the Preston Village Show – the cabbages and cakes were made from polymer clay and I was in awe of the detail that had gone into each piece.”

The Museum is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am – 4pm and the current exhibition is open until Saturday 15th September 2012.
