Hedon – Humberside Police Crime Report May 2012

WE ARE FORTUNATE to live in a low crime and safe area. However, the Police still regularly produce reports on local crime. This one covers May 2012:

There have been 106 calls for service this month (May 2012) for Hedon.

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
There have been 2 incidents of Anti-social behaviour reported to us this month. 4th May – Sheriff Highway. Stone thrown at a resident’s window. No damage caused. The possible culprits had run off before patrol arrived. 16th May – Drapers Lane. Schoolboy takes other person’s scooter then gives it back but is abusive to the parent of the scooter owner. Child is spoken to in front of parents and words of advice given by PCSO.

CRIME
There have been 17 crimes committed this month within the Hedon area.

BURGLARY
There have been 2 shed burglaries this month. One occurred on Preston Road where fishing equipment was stolen and the other was on Church Lane where two cycles were stolen.

THEFT
There have been 9 incidents of theft so far this month.
Three were shop thefts in the Market Place where food items and cosmetics were stolen. There are suspects for these offences and officers are making their enquiries into the thefts. A TV stand and a washing machine were stolen from a residents driveway on Sheriff Highway on the 3rd May. A wheelchair, which was hired to a person on Cloeberry Way, has not been returned to the hirer. Enquiries are in progress to retrieve this.

A cycle has been stolen from a garden on New Road overnight on the 15th/16th May. Another cycle has been taken from the rear garden of St. Johns Close on the 20th May.

Some metal fencing panels were stolen from premises on Havenside on the 28th May and enquiries continue into this offence.

On 29th May fuel was taken without been paid for by a customer at the petrol station. Enquiries are continuing.

ASSAULT
There have been 4 incidents of Assault so far this month. A domestic assault occurred overnight on the 6th/7th May which is being investigated, there are two complainants for this incident. A common assault domestic related incident was reported to us which occurred between October of last year and March this year. Enquiries are continuing with this incident.

A fight in a beer garden resulted in a male receiving nasty lacerations to their neck. This is being investigated.

A further common assault took place between a mother and daughter which is been investigated.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Only one incident so far reported to us. A vehicle was damaged by someone kicking out at the boot causing a dent whilst been parked on a driveway on St. Nicholas Gate.

ARSON
A small fire was started in the communal baby changing area of the toilets on Watmoughs Arcade causing smoke damage. Enquiries are being made into this incident.

NOTICE OF POLICE SURGERY
A police surgery takes place at the HEDON CO-OP on New Road on FRIDAY 29th JUNE from 10am – 11am. The surgery is an opportunity for you to speak privately with a member of the local neighbourhood policing team to discuss any policing issue of concern. The surgery is a drop-in event so you may have to wait a few minutes before being seen.
