POLICE ARE APPEALING for witnesses following two assaults which took place at the King’s Head Public House, Hedon on Saturday 9th April 2011.
The first assault took place at 12:40am when a 19-year-old man was walking into the beer garden at the rear of the pub when he was involved in a verbal altercation with another man. The man then allegedly assaulted the victim. A woman is then said to have also assaulted the victim.
The victim sustained a laceration to his head and swelling and bruising as a result of the assault.
A 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The second assault took place at 12:45am. A 30-year-old man was stood in the beer garden at the rear of the pub when he was allegedly punched in the face by another man causing him to fall to the floor. He was then punched several more times whilst on the floor.
As a result of the incident the victim suffered severed tendons in his hand which have required extensive surgery.
Detectives investigating the two assaults are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward to assist with inquiries.
