THE EAST RIDING YOUTH ASSEMBLY has received £10,000 from East Riding Council and the Youth Opportunities Fund to develop its Go 4 Less bus pass project.

Working in conjunction with East Riding Motor Services (EYMS), the project involves giving 400 young people aged between 13-19 free access to a Go 4 Less bus pass, with £25 of credit. When the £25 on the cards has been used, the young people can top them up if they wish, and obtain a 10 per cent discount on every EYMS bus service across the county.

The youth assembly received more than 700 applications for the passes since the scheme began in August, showing massive demand for cheaper transport for young people.

Young people who think they could benefit from a free bus pass should contact Richard Moulson, Senior Youth Worker at richard.moulson@eastriding.gov.uk for more information.
