HOTI campaigners are calling upon people to show their opposition to the siting of a waste burning incinerator at Saltend by joining a march on Saturday 3rd October 2009.

Details of the demonstration are still being arranged but organisers hope that it will be a bigger protest than the one staged in 2006.

HOTI – The Hull and Holderness Opposing The Incinerator group – are also planning a legal challenge to the granting of a permit to incinerator operators WRG (Waste Recycling Group). However, if the legal challenge fails then HOTI may end up having to pay up to £20,000 in legal costs. Therefore the group is establishing a bondholders scheme and asking supporters to raise money to cover these possible costs.

Further details of the proposed activities will be discussed at HOTI’s next meeting which takes place on Friday September 11th 2009, 7:30pm at the Alexandra Hall.
