The CAB can make a difference as this case study from its website confirms:
An 80 year old housebound client suffering from emphysema was turned down for Attendance Allowance. The bureau challenged the decision after obtaining evidence to support the claim and the decision was overturned. Attendance Allowance was awarded, increasing the client’s weekly income by almost £100.”

Holderness Lions feedback on fundraising efforts

A small piece in last weeks Holderness Gazette communicated a big message.

Lions International LogoLocal good-cause campaigners, the Holderness Lions, held a fundraising draw in the Hedon Co-op store on 9th and 10th October and raised £487.85 for charity. The Lions would like to thank everyone who took part in the draw and who made a donation and are grateful to the Co-op for its cooperation.

This is fantastic of the Lions to give feedback on their efforts in this way. How many times do we contribute to good-causes and charity but never get to hear anything more about it!

Congratulations to the Lions for the feedback and thanks to the Gazette for printing it!

The Holderness Lions are a local member club of the Lions Club International which describes itself as an “international network of volunteers and friends”.

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. Lions Mission Statement.
