OCCASIONS of Hedon opened for business in their new Market Place shop recently having flitted from Watmough Arcade.

Meanwhile the Taste Delicatessen also on the Market Place has announced it is closing for a short summer break.

And in other local business news, John Beal, 71, is retiring from the boards of Beal Homes and Eastman Securities Ltd. John started Beal Homes with his brother Raymond in 1968 with a first development of two houses and a shop in Hedon.

He is not retiring in the traditional sense, but has taken on a new role as non executive chairman of Beal Securities Ltd. He also remains a director of Hull RUFC, the city’s top ranking rugby union club, and of Hull Sports Centre on Chanterlands Avenue.
