As part of its “Talking About Hedon” campaign the Hedon Blog aims to reach
out to a wider audience and get new people taking part!
A Hedon Blog Flyer has been produced and professionally copied by Hedon Green Print. 5,000 copies will be distributed in the HU12 post-code area by the Holderness Advertiser with the 12th November edition.
Up until now the Hedon Blog’s popularity has grown by word-of-mouth and via the internet. The Flyer will let lots more local people know that the Blog exists and wants their involvement.
People interested in getting actively involved in the Blog can attend the Hedon Blog Meet-up on 24th November.

The Hedon and District Chrysanthemum Society holds its annual show on Saturday November 7th at the Alexandra Hall in the centre of Hedon.
This is the 61st show that the Society has staged. As well as the popular flower contests there are competitions for vegetables, crafts and cookery.
This year under 16s are encouraged to take part in special categories for that age group.
The event is open to the public from 2pm – 4:30pm.
A small piece in last weeks Holderness Gazette communicated a big message.
Local good-cause campaigners, the Holderness Lions, held a fundraising draw in the Hedon Co-op store on 9th and 10th October and raised £487.85 for charity. The Lions would like to thank everyone who took part in the draw and who made a donation and are grateful to the Co-op for its cooperation.
This is fantastic of the Lions to give feedback on their efforts in this way. How many times do we contribute to good-causes and charity but never get to hear anything more about it!
Congratulations to the Lions for the feedback and thanks to the Gazette for printing it!
The Holderness Lions are a local member club of the Lions Club International which describes itself as an “international network of volunteers and friends”.
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. Lions Mission Statement.

Ruth Marsden has been elected as the Chair of the ERY LINk (East Riding of Yorkshire Local Involvement Network). The ERY LINk is a network of people and groups in the East Riding aiming to improve health and social care services in the region.
The new Chair has been involved in a voluntary capacity with health and social care issues for about 10 years. She will now be playing a crucial role in building positive relationships with different communities, people who benefit from care, those who provide care services, commissioners of services and policy makers.
Ruth has stated on the ERY LINk website:
I am keenly aware that health and wellbeing are the keys to a positive life-experience. I enjoy enthusing and encouraging others and believe hard work, focus and positivity can achieve a great deal.
The Hedon Blog congratulates Ruth on her election and looks forward to regular reports from LINk on progress being made.
If you have issues that you need to bring to the attention of the ERY LINk then contact them via their website or leave comments here and they can be forwarded to them.
