Alision Hall, St Augustine’s Gate, Hedon to be a restaurant/lounge bar?

alison-hall-grilleThe Holderness Gazette reports that Alison Hall, Hedon’s former WI (Women’s Institute) building – currently being refurbished – is possibly going to be leased out as a restaurant/lounge bar.

My visits to Hedon Museum have informed me that the current hall was opened on 10th December 1931 and was named in honour of Mrs Alison Todd the then President of the local WI. It still bears that organisation’s logo and the motto ‘For Home and Country’.

The ‘grille’ pictured here has been removed during the restoration – it is hoped it will feature in the renovated building.
