The Thing from AI (Artificial Intelligence)
The Thing from AI was generated by the blog’s own ‘artificial intelligence’ assistant.
It was meant to represent a particular photographer’s work and be used as a page header for a gallery. The text prompt I used asked the AI to generate an image that represented the work in that photographer’s gallery. It was a very bizarre response, but it will make an interesting jigsaw!

Interview with ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer)
Photography and the future of photography are being significantly impacted by AI. The debate around the issues is similar to those raised during the move from film to digital. There is a major difference, however. AI can generate images without a photographer or an image-making device being present. Rather than a camera, mobile phone or other device used in combination with a real subject, all that is required is to write a text prompt. The debate has been quite cleverly captured by photographer Glyn Dewis in an interview with…. an AI.
