Christmas Appeal from Holyrood House. Can you help?
Christmas Appeal from Holyrood House. Can you help? While Christmas can be difficult for many, for residents of care homes it can be particularly challenging! We have been contacted by Mrs Jaye Kelly, Activities Coordinator at Holyrood House, Hedon, who said:
Tombola.
“I am looking for donations to go alongside our Residents Christmas party on Thursday 16 December 2021. The Mayoress of Hedon will be attending and I will be holding a tombola for this event. Could you please donate something to this?”

“We require donations to our Tombola Stall that we will be holding on the day of our Residents and Family Christmas Party on the 16th of December. The 674th Mayor of Hedon Sarah Rommell will be attending our event to ensure joy and Christmas spirit will be shared throughout our home. In these challenging times, we are doing our very best to make our home “Holyrood House” a place where Care, Laughter and Most of all the Community are joined together. If you have anything suitable could you please drop it off at the Home or alternatively our Activity Coordinator can collect it.
“Are you a singer? Can you play the keyboard? Would you like to entertain our residents on that day? Safeguarding is a must for our Home and all measures will be in place. If you can offer your services for Free, please contact our Activity Coordinator Mrs J Kelly by emailing activitiesholyroodhouse13@gmail.com or telephone the Home on 01482 899340.
“Thank you on behalf of our residents in advance.”
Christmas Cards.
“Can you send Christmas Cards to the lovely Residents of Holyrood House?”

“While Christmas may be different for most of us this year, for people living in care homes it may be particularly challenging. Many of the normal festivities have had to be adapted to keep everyone safe, but the annual tradition of sending and receiving cards remains unaltered. Sending an extra card to our Residents home will help people know you are thinking of them and will provide a real boost to lift spirits.
“If you would like to send a card to brighten the days up towards Christmas, and then we can act in a sustainable way after the Christmas period doing activities with the cards received. Knowing just what a heartfelt gesture it is to receive a card, our Residents of “Holyrood House” will be thrilled to bits!
We are asking people to send Christmas Cards to our lovely Residents of Holyrood House. I am trying to get as many as possible sent.
“Cards can be put through the letterbox or posted out to Mrs J Kelly at Holyrood House, Baxtergate, Hedon, Hull HU12 8JN.
“Thank you!”
