WHILST NO OFFICIAL confirmation has been received, it seems that the Hedon Co-op is going to become a Nisa Local store. Sources indicate the changeover could take place next month.
The Co-op acquired Nisa Retail Limited in May 2018 in a £143m deal that resulted in nearly a doubling of the stores that the Co-op supplies. Nisa Partners in the deal retained their rights to run independent convenience stores as a brand. They can choose to include Co-op’s own brand range in their stores. Partners can run as a Nisa Local or under their own name.
Whilst NISA Retail is part of Co-op Group, the Co-op Member Rewards cannot be earned in NISA stores. The nearest Co-op store will be the Thorngumbald branch.
We will bring you more information as it is released.

A spokesperson from the Co-op has confirmed that the store has been sold to an independent operator:
The spokesperson is keen to point out that the decision to sell the store is in no way a reflection on the hard work and commitment of colleagues, who have been informed.
