THE HUMBERSIDE and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force have the honour and distinction of being able to march through Hedon with colours raised and bands playing. Hedon has a proud association with the Humberside and South Yorkshire Cadets who have been granted the Freedom of Hedon since 1960 and exercise this honour approximately every two years.
NOTE CHANGE OF TIME: On Sunday 21st July 2013 some 150 cadets, band members, instructors and officers are expected to assemble at Hedon Market Place from 11:30am. The Hedon Mayor traditionally performs the official inspection of the gathered Cadets, followed by the parade through the town, and then the church service at St Augustine’s at 12.15pm.
There will be road closures in Hedon town centre from 11.00am – 2.00pm for the event.
Those using the buses should be aware that Service 277 will divert via Fletchergate, New Road and Hull Road to Saltend Roundabout, and then via Staithes Road to Preston, before returning to its normal route. Other buses which serve Hedon will not be affected as they do not use the roads which are closed.
Note: Photos from different Parade events through Hedon.
