dog pictureEAST RIDING COUNCIL is carrying out a consultation on Dog Control Orders.

A Dog Exclusion Order makes it an offence for a person in charge of a dog to take the dog onto, or allow it to enter or remain on land from which dogs are excluded.

A Dogs on Leads Order makes it an offence if a person in charge of a dog fails to keep it on a lead.

An offence carries a Fixed Penalty Notice of £75.

In Hedon the following areas are under consideration for Dog Control Orders:

  • Hedon St Augustines churchyard – Town Council requested dogs on leads order
  • Hedon cemetery – Town Council requested dogs on leads order
  • Hedon Cleeve Road children’s play area – East Riding Council wants dog exclusion order
  • Hedon Drapers Lane children’s play area – Town Council requested dog exclusion order
  • Hedon Cromwell Road children’s play area – East Riding Council wants dog exclusion order
  • Hedon Grazing field Ivy lane – Town Council requested dogs on leads order
  • Hedon Watson park amenity land – Town Council requested dogs on leads order
  • Hedon Greville road amenity land – Town Council requested dogs on leads order

The East Riding Council is seeking your views upon the areas covered by the control orders. They have set up an opportunity to respond to the consultation via the East Riding Council website.

The consultation is open until Sunday 30th June 2013.

  1. clarity please, thought there was already a dog exclusion order in the childrens play area…theres a sign on the gate i think… do they mean to ban dogs from all of far bank…weres left to give your dogs a run if they pass all this ???
