Fan-TasticMuseum Fan Signs

COLOURFUL and amazing fans are on display at Hedon Museum.

Julie Marshall at the Museum, said: “Some are antique, some more recent, all of them are fragile and fascinating in the variety of styles and fabrics, sizes and decoration. Once displayed to audiences in productions at Hull’s New Theatre, the fans come from the collection of the late Louise Newell.”

Louise Newell used to make and supply costumes for the Hull Savoyards. She died aged 94 in 2011 leaving this wonderful collection.

The museum is open every Saturday and Wednesday from 10am – 4pm and the exhibition runs until Saturday, 11th May 2013.
