Rosedale Community Gardening Project

9:03 am

A VOLUNTEERING PROJECT at the Rosedale Health Centre garden on Preston Road, Hedon seems to be going very well according to Humber People (the newsletter for members of the Humber NHS Foundation Trust).

The supporting volunteering project lets people with a learning disability get active with gardening, as a fun and meaningful activity, at the Rosedale site.

Carole White, Voluntary Services Manager, says in the newsletter: “Other registered volunteers help and support the project, so together everyone gets involved, gets gardening and has fun in the process.”

Carole was pleased to report that a resident from Bilton recently donated a Rose Arch to the garden which was assembled by one of the volunteers. “It makes a grand entrance to the Rosedale garden” says Carole.

During the next four to five months the team will visit the site once a fortnight, helping to maintain and improve this much-loved garden site.

If you know anyone else who might be suitable for this supported volunteering project please contact Carole White on 01482 617910.
