THE PETITION has really taken off and captured the imagination of the public who are sick to death of the foul odours from the Waste Water Treatment Works!
At 8:30am this morning (4th August 2011) 632 people had signed the online petition and 412 of those had asked to be kept updated about the campaign by e-mail.
There are dozens of people out collecting signatures all over Hull and Holderness as people have taken their initiative, printed off the petitions – or started their own – and got neighbours and friends to sign.
Lots of shops and businesses have taken petitions for customers to sign. The Hedon ones – that we know about – are listed here on our Business Page. If you know of others – please contact the Blog so we can at least acknowledge their support.
There are 542 members of the Facebook Group: Yorkshire water needs to sort the smell out and a desire to make this a real Hull and Holderness campaign.
In Hedon we plan to hold a meeting for those wanting to help organise the campaign on TUESDAY 9th AUGUST at 6:30pm in the town (details will follow soon)! It is hoped that those organising in Hull, Preston and Paull will attend. We will be organising a bigger public event later in the next few weeks so everyone can show their disgust with Yorkshire Water’s stink!
People are sending in their stories of how their health has been affected by the smells! Thanks – this is important evidence in getting the problem declared a ‘statutory nuisance’ – Please keep your stories coming in at hedonblog@gmx.com.
That’s it for now – but please keep adding your comments on stuff that has been missed.
