Digital Switchover – Wed 3rd August and Wed 17th August

7:00 am

THE DIGITAL TV SWITCHOVER is taking place. The existing TV signal will be switched off and replaced with a new, stronger digital TV signal.

Research done by DigitalUK does indicate that nine-out-of-10 homes in the area have gone digital but thousands of viewers still need to get ready or risk having a blank screen!

The dates to remember in this area are:

WEDNESDAY 3rd AUGUST – Engineering work takes place and service is expected to be resumed at 6:00am. If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV you’ll need to re-tune your equipment after this time. BBC 2 will go to digital and some new digital channels become available. This means that if you haven’t switched, you’ll lose BBC 2.

WEDNESDAY 17th AUGUSTService is expected to be restored by 6:00am. All the remaining analogue channels will switch to digital and the remaining digital channels will become available. Again, you’ll need to re-tune your equipment after this time. If you haven’t switched to digital, you will lose all of your TV service.

Find out more at DigitalUK. There will also be an Digital Switchover Advice Roadshow in Queen Victoria Square, Hull from 9:00am – 5:00pm on the 3rd and 4th of August 2011.
