THE GOVERNMENT recently launched data.gov.uk to open up ‘public’ information for individual and commercial use.
Very good use of this public data is made by the website OurProperty. You need to register with your name, e-mail and address but then get excellent information about houses sold in your area by entering a post code.
For example; did you know that between 1st December 2007 and 30th November 2009 there were 21 house sales in Birch Tree Drive, Hedon with an average selling price of £132,829 ?
As the OurProperty logo claims, perhaps this is information that estate agents will not always share with you!
