Hedon Blog Newsletter – an online collaboration

THE HEDON BLOG is to produce a newsletter.

The Hedon Blog News will be an online publication that can be downloaded by anyone with a computer. There will also be a limited print run of 250 copies that will be distributed to local pubs, shops and public buildings, but its main circulation will be achieved through e-mail, Facebook and Twitter and embedding on other websites.

This will be like no other publication, because it will be planned and designed in full public view and people will be able to collaborate in its production, through taking part in the Hedon Blog News Wiki (to find out what a Wiki is, watch the video below).

The articles will be written on the Wiki and photos and images uploaded to it. Those that wish to contribute and play a part, can do so by joining the Wiki and becoming collaborative authors and editors.

Whilst this is a very different and exciting way to produce a newsletter, it will only be as good as the material contained within it. So we appeal to readers, individuals and local groups to continue to send the Hedon Blog your news, information and community notices. Additionally, there will be opportunities to advertise in the newsletter which will subsidise the printed copies of the newsletter.

To be included in the newsletter you must submit your material by Friday 4th March 2011. It will be published on Monday 14th March, so any notices should be for events after that date.

To get involved and find out more information then visit the Hedon Blog News Wiki.

If this trial works, then Hedon Blog News could be a regular monthly publication.

FROM SATURDAY 22nd JANUARY the cost of a single bus fare from Hedon to Hull will rise by 15p to £2.00 and a return fare will rise Continue reading
