YOU CAN NOW VIEW all the entries submitted to the Capturing the East Riding Photography Competition on the East Riding Council website.
More than 700 entries have been uploaded and can now be viewed in the online galleries.
The competition was open to all amateur photographers and saw a range of entries from individuals and community groups.
Today, Friday 2nd December 2011, judges will select the top 100 entries for inclusion in an exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery next year.
Hilary Saynor, chair of the East Riding Cultural Partnership, who organised the competition, said: “Over 180 people were inspired to enter the competition and we have been impressed by the standard of their entries. Participants have shown us the people, places and events that make their communities different and interesting. Their photos, together as a collection, demonstrate that the East Riding clearly has much to offer as a place to live and visit.”
Of course we are not biased on the Hedon Blog – well, not too much! – but we do like the frozen shots of Hedon submitted by Jim Uney and the Midsummer Sunset from Paull submitted by Diane Davies, and the sunset over Paull by D O’connor
