Amazing Amy Rat has come to Hedon as part of a Mischief of Rats.
HEDON may have missed out on Toads, Moths and Puffins trails in the past – but we are firmly on the Rats Trail. Amazing Amy Rat has come to Hedon as part of a Mischief of Rats.

AMAZING AMY
Artists: Emily Dodgson & Holderness Academy Pupils
Sponsor: Amy Johnson Arts Trust
Location: Market Hill, Hedon HU12 8JD.
Inspiration for the project comes from 70s Hull band, The Rats. Lead guitarist Mick Ronson, bassist Trevor Bolder and drummer Woody Woodmansey went on to form David Bowie’s ‘Spiders from Mars’.
Sadly both Mick and Trevor died of cancer, and so it is fitting that Daisy Appeal, a charity focussing on the early diagnosis of cancers, heart disease and dementia, should benefit from this project. – Rats Map Booklet
This is not the first association that Hedon has had with the iconic ‘Spiders from Mars’ album, as we explain here about 23 Heddon Street and the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust.
There are 45 rats to find around Hull and East Yorkshire – including the Humber Rat, which can be found in Paull. There is an App to download to help you search for them. Enjoy searching!
So what has happened to Amy? There were local plans to keep Amy in the local area…. but what has actually happened to the Amazing Amy Rat?
21 of the Rats are currently being auctioned off by Gilbert Baitson: https://bid.gilbert-baitson.co.uk/auctions/9397/ibgi11218
