Christmas wishes from the Mayor of Hedon
It is incredible that 2022 has passed by so quickly, and here we are with the Christmas season once again upon us.

So much seems to have happened this year, no sooner had we been celebrating the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee than we were mourning her passing.
In terms of world events, my thoughts and prayers go to those suffering in the war in the Ukraine, perhaps 2023 shall see an end to the fighting.
And on the domestic front, with events in Parliament, and the economy there seems to be so much uncertainty around. Life has become so difficult for so many people with the cost of living. Let us hope for better things next year.
At local level let us cherish our resplendent Christmas tree in the Market Place, along with the smaller trees throughout the Town Centre.
My thanks go to all the volunteers, the traders, the churches, around the Town who do so much, especially with the Christmas Lights switch on, in helping to generate a festive and joyous feeling around the Town. A “feel good” Christmas, after all the dismal news we have had this year.
So from the Mayor, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
