THE PLANNING NOTICE for the proposed development of Care Home and Assisted Living facilities on land to the North of Magdalen Lane records that if anyone wishes to make comments or lodge objections in respect of the proposal then they should do so by Friday 7th September 2012.
As well as dealing with possible increases in traffic, and the potential flood risks to any new development and surrounding areas, the Planning Process also has to consider and respond to concerns raised by the Humber Archaeology Partnership that the medieval Chantry Chapel of St Mary Magdalene may lie within (or adjacent to) the application site. Any construction work might unearth ancient heritage sites and conditions imposed on the developers to investigate, record or recover these.
The Planning Application process may seem unwieldy and bureaucratic at times, but is indeed thorough and robust in ensuring the interests of all parties are represented!
