NINETY SEVEN (97) PEOPLE ATTENDED a public meeting in Paull last night and voted unanimously for the plans for a new £350,000 Village Hall.

Village Hall Committee Chairman Paul Cross described the plans for the new hall which includes the realisation of an idea, suggested by a local resident, of a second level viewing gallery where spectacular panoramic views of the River Humber would be enjoyed.

The turnout for the meeting – from a village of around 500 people – shows the commitment of the local villagers to the idea of a new hall as a focal point for their local community.

Fundraisers in Paull have already raised £5,000 towards the project and this was boosted by a further donation of £30,000 from a local charitable trust fund. This funding from local community sources will serve as “match funding” making the project a viable proposition to those major funders being approached for support.

Congratulations also to the Paull community on the launch of their new Village Hall website where a report on the meeting can be found.
