THE HEDON RESTORATION PROJECT is celebrated in a new exhibition at Hedon Museum.

A group of local residents have been working on proposals for over 10 years to re-open Hedon Haven. The Haven was a watercourse linking to the Humber that once made Hedon one of the most important ports in the country. The Haven was filled in during the early 1970s.

The Restoration Project has an ambitious £17m plan that involves re-opening the waterway and building a marina and country park.

Rebirth of the Haven – The story of the Challenge is at Hedon Museum every Saturday and Wednesday from 10am – 4pm until March 3rd 2010.
