
TWO NEW COUNCILLORS will join Hedon Town Council as a result of the poll on Thursday 6th February 2014.
With 519 votes Independent Colin Billany topped the poll with UKIP’s Terry West in second place and also elected with 458 votes.
859 people voted (5 rejected ballot papers) and each could vote for up to two candidates. The turnout was 13% of the electorate.

POLLING DAY to fill the TWO VACANCIES on HEDON TOWN COUNCIL will be THURSDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2014.
There are FOUR CANDIDATES standing for election (click the links for statements from each). You can vote for TWO of the candidates:
Stephen John GALLANT, Labour Party Candidate
Brian STOCKDALE, Labour Party Candidate
Terry WEST, UK Independence Party (UK I P)
The Hedon Blog will offer each candidate up to 500 words to explain their reasons for standing and to state their case why residents ought to vote for them.
- The deadline to register for a POSTAL VOTE for the Hedon Town Council Election is by 5pm, Wednesday 22nd January.
- If you need to apply for a PROXY VOTE (for someone else to vote on your behalf), the deadline for completed applications is 5pm, Wednesday 29th January 2014.
The Polling Station will be at the Hedon Methodist Church on the junction of Church Lane / New Road which will be open for voting from 7am – 10pm on Election Day.
The election was caused by the resignations of Jim Lindop and Ann Suggit as councillors on 14th November 2013.
