Hedon Town Council response to the Boundary Commission

THE RESPONSE from Hedon Town Council to proposed parliamentary constituency boundary changes has been agreed. With the perceived ‘expansion plans’ of Hull bringing ‘industry right up to Hedon’s boundaries’ the council has registered its complete opposition to South West Holderness being taken into the Hull East constituency.

Chair Steve Gallant says that the current proposals contain lots of anomalies, need rethinking, and the character of the constituency should be preserved. But the BCE proposals are not “a done deal” he says and urges people to have their say.

South West Holderness to join new East Hull Parliamentary County Constituency?

IT HAS BEEN proposed by the Boundary Commission for England (BCE) that in 2023 a new Kingston Upon Hull East Parliamentary County Constituency is formed that would incorporate the current South West Holderness Ward (Hedon, Paull, Preston, Thorngumbald, etc).

Hedon Haven pre-planning presentations: Has adequate consultation taken place?

Has adequate public consultation on the proposed development taken place? The planning committee deferred the application to allow time for statutory comments to be submitted, but also time for more public engagement to take place. The quality of the consultation was raised in the presentations.
