Pepper Predator

Greenland is constantly in the news at the moment (January 2026), and discussion rages as to the island’s apex predator.

This pepper, sliced by the author in 2019, bears a resemblance to the alien from the cinema franchise. Any similarity to a world head-of-state is purely coincidental.

It’s not the first time that the U.S. President has been depicted in pepper format, though, as The Register reported in 2016.

How I did it in Affinity – Rob Stirling

Rocket layer moved down so wheels were below the platform, then a Mask applied.

Rocket layer rotated slightly to suit checking and editing mask to suit.

The Rocket layer was flipped horizontally to suit the Paragon track.

I opened the original screenshot of the news item, copied Ctrl-C, then selected the Paragon project and pasted Ctrl=V which adds as a new layer.

Edited the size and position of the layer to fit my project in the desired position, overwriting the original photo, and added a mask to bring back the top half of the letter H.
