DESCRIBED as a theatrical tribute show celebrating the classic 80s Pop Rock New Romantic era, From Gold to Rio will headline the main outdoor Hedfest Stage on Far Bank on Friday 3 June.

Performing the greatest hits from Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran From Gold to Rio will keep festival-goers entertained and shouting for more with over 20 top ten hits from 8.30pm – 10.00pm on the main Hedfest Stage.

Two of the UK’s most iconic bands will be brought to life in one power-packed show!
With over 20 top 10 hits the show will feature non-stop classics including Gold, Rio, True, The Reflex, to name a few, guaranteed to leave the audience shouting for more!
So, if you’re a Duranie, a Spandie, a Wild Boy or a Soul Boy, then this is something you don’t want to miss!

But of course, the entertainment is not just the last act, there is a full programme of entertainment from 2pm on the Main Stage. Cuba Drive will attract a massive home crowd, Soul Patrol, The Finest Hour, The Listening Club, The Arkut Brothers, Nicole Fewster and The Humble Bard make the lineup.

The Far Bank area off Drapers Lane will be the location of the Main Hedfest Stage – and residents and visitors are encouraged to turn the area into festival land and bring your blankets, picnics and deckchairs for the day. As well as the music, take advantage of the food and drink stalls and the fairground that will be set up for the day. Toilet facilities will be in place.

Saint Augustine’s Church Indoor Stage from 2pm:

A completely different sound and atmosphere will excite festival-goers at the church. Benefiting from perhaps 1,000 years of superb architectural acoustics will be a lineup of Sam Connolly, Tom Gorringe, Brodie Milner, American Daughters, Ed James, Kobe Allenby, Rob Bywater, Pete Clarkson, Katrina Rae and Beth Pilling.

Street Poetry Stage at The Haven Arms 3pm and 5pm

“Street Poetry” and other spoken-word entertainment will be on offer at the Haven Arms (follow the directions over the footbridge behind the Far Bank stage).

An Open Mic will start the event at 3pm when any budding poet can take to the microphone to perform. The first session will continue with a performance from Peter Knaggs and then Jimmy Andrex.

The 5pm session will see Helen Rice, Stan Skinny and Ian Winter take to the stage.
