Local communities are encouraged to attend a public consultation on the proposals for H2H Saltend.

Equinor will hold a public consultation on its Hydrogen to Humber (H2H) Saltend project in the first week of April and is encouraging members of the local community to attend and view its proposals.

The consultation drop-ins will take place on the following dates and at these venues:

  • Monday, April 4 2022, 2pm – 8pm, Paull Village Hall, 67 Main Street, Paull, HU12 8AW
  • Tuesday, April 5 2022, 2pm – 8pm, Hedon Town Hall, 36 St Augustine’s Gate, Hedon, HU12 8EX
  • Wednesday, April 6 2022, 2pm – 8pm, Jubilee Central, 62 King Edward Street, Hull HU1 3SQ
  • Friday, April 8 2022, 12pm – 5pm, Preston Community Hall, Main Street, Preston, HU12 8SA

H2H Saltend is Equinor’s flagship 600-megawatt low carbon hydrogen production plant with carbon capture, located within px Group’s Saltend Chemical Park, to the east of Hull. Saltend Chemicals Park is one of the most carbon-intensive sites in the Humber which is the largest CO2 emitting industrial region in the UK.

H2H Saltend could enable industries at the Chemicals Park and within the wider East Yorkshire area to reduce CO2 emissions by nearly one million tonnes annually, representing a 30% reduction in the Saltend Chemicals Park’s total current emissions.

The public consultation will be held in person across four days at different venues near Saltend in the East Riding and in central Hull. They will feature informative exhibition boards explaining the project and its timeline.

Information brochures will be available to take away, members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions, and attendees will be able to submit comments which will feed into the process. All of the information provided at the in-person exhibitions will also be available online via a virtual exhibition which will be live until May 6 2022.
