Adult Bereavement Support Drop-in Service in Hedon to continue

The Bereavement Support Drop-in Service will last beyond the pilot stage – An Understanding Your Bereavement Session will take place alongside the March 17 Drop-in…

THE HULL AND DISTRICT Branch of Cruse Bereavement Support are pleased to announce the Hedon Drop-in Service held at Hedon Methodist Church will continue beyond March.

The Drop-in Service, which started in September 2021 has seen a gradual increase in the number of people using it during the initial six-month pilot. Alison, a Social Prescriber from Holderness Health, feels the Drop-in service has proved to be a valuable lifeline in our community. The success of the service means it will continue to run after the final pilot service on March 17. The Cruse volunteers would like to thank Rev. Helen Hickson and the wonderful Community Junction Volunteers at the Hedon Methodist Church for their continued support.

The next Adult Bereavement Support Drop-in Service for March will be held on Thursday, March 17, from 4pm – 6pm. Please visit anytime between these hours, no appointment is necessary. If you would like support, please visit Fred, Heather, Rachael and Gary at the Community Junction Coffee Lounge, Hedon Methodist Church, Church Lane, HU12 8EL. Limited onsite parking is available.

In addition to the March Drop-in service, Cruse is pleased to offer the opportunity to attend an Understanding Your Bereavement (UYB) session. The UYB session aims to provide information about grief through a presentation, with the opportunity to ask questions and talk about grief. No one is obliged to talk in the session if they do not wish to do so. In addition to the presentation, you will also be given other information on the ‘Impact of Bereavement’ and ‘What Happens Next’ to take away with you.

Understanding Your Bereavement

The UYB session starts with the 40-minute presentation and will last between 60 – 90 minutes. Doors open at the Methodist Church at 4:15pm for a 4:30pm start. Booking is required to attend the UYB session.
