HEDFEST, THE HEDON FESTIVAL, IS BACK for 2022 it has been confirmed. The music festival, not staged in the town since 2018, will be held on FRIDAY 3 JUNE and will be a significant event within a 4-day town celebration to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Whilst the official promotion of the festival will not start until next month (March 2022), it’s important that music fans and Hedon residents get the date firmly in their diaries.
First held in 2015, Hedfest has been an opportunity to bring new and original music and musicians into the town and has always been celebrated with a carnival parade and the same will happen this year.
An open-air main stage will be erected at Far Bank in Hedon, with an adjacent smaller performance area. Far Bank is the green area that extends along Drapers Lane from New Road to Burstwick Drain. There is a play park to the West of Far Bank and a Skate Park to the East. A fair will be held there too for #Hedfest22. A second stage for Hedfest will be at Saint Augustine’s Church which will serve mainly as an acoustic venue.
Music will start at both venues at 2pm and continue with a programme of entertainment during the afternoon and into the night. A Carnival Parade will once again be a major feature of Hedfest 2022 starting at 1pm. There will also be a celebration of the Spoken Word at Hedfest22.
