IT’S A TOP SECRET mission for the celebrity guest who is opening the Preston Show on Saturday! The Show in recent years has been opened by electric personalities such as Lucy Clark and David ‘Burnsy’ Burns from BBC Radio Humberside, and memorably a Dalek in 2016. But 2021’s electric-powered celebrity is sure to fire up the excitement of the children!
Opening the Preston Family Show Day on Saturday, 31 July 2021 at 1.30 pm – and don’t tell anyone because it’s a secret – is the electro-powered armoured Avenger, IRON MAN.
The grounds of the Nag’s Head on Sproatley Road, Preston once again provides the setting for the family show day. On-stage entertainment and live music will run over the day. There will be fairground rides, activities, and games for the children.
In addition to the fun day, there will also be the annual village show with classes for vegetables/fruit, wine, cakes/jams, flowers, art, crafts, and photography and children’s classes – entries taken up to 10.30 am on the morning of the show. The show schedules are now available now from local outlets. The Photography competition this year is being run by Hedon Viewfinders who have sponsored some nice trophies. This is in addition to the three trophies traditionally awarded at the show; The Jack Lowe Trophy in the vegetable class, best handicraft in the show, and best in the show.
The charity stalls provide lots of interest with raffles and tombola with some fantastic prizes. There will be the usual hot food and BBQ stalls.
