Tree fall, Ivy Lane.

Councillor John Dennis was on the scene yesterday to see the clean-up operation after a tree fall on Ivy Lane (Monday 14 June 2021).

Councillor Dennis reported on our Facebook page: “A massive branch came down into the Lane at about 6 pm causing damage to two cars, a hedge and a further branch was hanging precariously over the roadway. One of the drivers was sat parked in his car, but luckily he wasn’t hurt.

“The emergency team from the East Riding Council arrived with some very impressive equipment including power saws, a cherry picker and a very noisy ‘chipper’ and soon had the debris cleared away.

“Everything was safe and secure by 9pm.”
