HEDON TOWN COUNCIL’S F&GP (Finance and General Purposes Committee) meets tomorrow night (Thurs 27 May) at 7.15pm. The meeting, the second in Saint Augustine’s Church since the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions has a bumper 29 items on the Agenda!

There will be reports and updates from some of the council’s working groups. Working groups are set up by the council to study an issue or matter. They then make recommendations to the council’s formal committees. Membership of the working groups are determined by councillors but can involve non-councillors too.

At this meeting, there will be updates from the Events, Hedfest, Climate Change, Street Lighting and Bus Shuttle service working groups. The working group set up to look at the regular live-streaming of council meetings will also give an update.

The F&GP will also consider requests for grant funding. One from the South Holderness Cricket Club and another for the Reuben’s Voice memorial concert to be held on Saturday 21 August 2021. The meeting will also consider ways in which the Hedon Litter Pickers community group can be supported.

Members of the public can attend and observe the meeting at the church venue. Social distancing, track & trace will be in place and face coverings must be worn.

Following sound issues at the last meeting, the Town Clerk has said that all the decisions made by the council on the night will be announced and benefit from sound amplification.
