IN ONE of the first unexpected delays to its publication schedules in recent memory the Holderness Gazette will not be available until later today. The delayed production was caused by a computer virus affecting the newspaper’s office server yesterday.

The Gazette publishes two versions, one generic to the Holderness area and one specifically for Hornsea. You can expect your copy today to be available this afternoon rather than first thing in the morning as normal.

The Gazette reports the delay on Twitter yesterday.

Also of interest in the Gazette are the advertised vacancies for two News Correspondents – one for Withernsea and one for Hornsea.

The advert explains that the role of news correspondent would be perfect for those living in the area who have a passion for their community and enjoy writing.

Described as “A role where every day is different, you will keep our readers up to date with the news covering a range of subjects from community stories to local crime. Working with a small editorial team, you will be a confident communicator able to work to deadlines. You will find and develop stories, gather information, create engaging, accurate articles and take photographs. Experience preferred but not required, training will be given. Hours and pay negotiable.”

Those interested are encouraged to send their CV to:
