The Hedon British Legion Club is in need of help. The club, like lots of venues in the town, has suffered due to closure during pandemic lockdowns. Unlike other venues, however, the committee-run club doesn’t have the resources of a big pub chain to rely upon. It relies on its members and supporters for its survival.
The club is in urgent need of repairs to its floor, as its Go Fund Me appeal describes:
The Royal British Legion, Hedon has had its doors closed for a large amount of time during 2020/2021 due to COVID-19. Because the Legion has been closed and due to a shortfall in funds, the heating has been left off for a large amount of time, resulting in the floor lifting due to damp in the air. The Royal British Legion is a meeting point for many people in Hedon and we’re eager to get back open as soon as we’re allowed. Everybody at The Royal British Legion appreciates that the last few months have been extremely difficult for everybody but we’re asking if you can make a donation, no matter how large or small we would really appreciate it.
We encourage readers to support the appeal if you possibly can.
