ALL WELCOME.

Nearly 50 runners and walkers took part in Hedon Fitmums and Friends Christmas Jingle Bell Run recently. Dressed in festive costumes, and lit up in colourful ‘be seen’ safety lights, the different teams of runners and walkers presented a pleasing and seasonal sight, blending in perfectly with the Christmas lights festooned across businesses and homes in the town.

Hedon Fitmums and Friends is the local fitness walking and running group for men and women that caters for runners and walkers of all abilities with distances of 1 to 6 miles trekked each weekly session. The group meets every Monday 6.45pm at Inmans primary School in Hedon. As the Jingle Bell event proved, Fitmums is also a very sociable group, making the keep-fit aspect an enjoyable one.

Coordinator of the group, volunteer Nikki Grundy said: “Everyone who joined in on the Jingle Bell run looked amazing! Our club wouldn’t be what it is without their spirit and camaraderie every week! Thank you to our volunteer leaders for braving the elements week in week out and giving up their time for the club to continue.”

The first meeting of the group in the New Year is on Monday 7 January at 6.45pm at Inmans Primary School. Nikki hopes this will be an opportunity to showcase the group: “All welcome. Bring a friend, relative or colleague to show them what Hedon Fitmums is all about, and we offer a chance to start 2019 and meet your New Year resolutions in a positive way!”
