HEDON SCOUTS are seeking to recruit new leaders, assistant leaders and helpers for all sections (beavers, cubs, scouts).
Scouting is an affordable way of providing a range of exciting and adventurous activities for children and young people, activities which the Scouts Chief Commissioner for England describes as “an incredible mix of fun, friendship, adventure and powerful Scouting values.”
However, scouting relies on its enthusiastic volunteers in order to keep on providing these activities. Those volunteering their time can opt to spend as much or as little time in a week supporting the group and will receive training, help and support.
The Hedon group meeting times are:
Beavers – Tuesday – 5.30pm-6.30pm
Cubs – Tuesday – 6.45pm-8.15pm
Scouts – Monday – 7.00pm-8:30pm
Hedon Scouts are also looking for someone to help with the upkeep of the grounds around the scout hut, carrying out gardening roles when they wish. They also need people to sit on their executive committee.
Anyone interested in getting involved can contact hedonscoutgroup@hotmail.com.
There are some useful notes on volunteering with the scouts on their national website.

In other news: Hedon Scouts were successful in obtaining an award from the Yorkshire Water Saltend Community Fund. A £2,000 grant will help them buy a box trailer to carry equipment and facilitate their involvement in more activities and events.
