TWO ONLINE SERVICES that residents might me interested in exploring are:

STREETLIFE is a social network that aims to connect people through where they live. You sign up with your postcode and an e-mail address and you will be linked up with those that share your postcode. While Streetlife is nothing new, recent publicity means that lots more local people have signed up making the conversations and events posted there much more relevant.

DOORDA is a ‘data aggregator’ i.e. it brings together lots of local information provided by the Government and presents it via a user-friendly map of the local area.

Crime information, property prices, food hygiene ratings, and road safety are all monitored via Doorda who aim to update the information regularly as it gets updated by government sources. Doorda is not perfect, but if you are wanting local information on the items above, it is a good place to start.
