Church carol singers help nursing home residents

CAROLS sung around Hedon at Christmas helped raise money for social activities at a local nursing home.

But the pleasure derived from those candle-lit singers has been extended even longer as a result of proceeds collected on the evening being donated towards providing additional events and activities for residents at Magdalen Park Nursing Home.

Elizabeth Garton from Magdalen Park Nursing Home is keen to pass on thanks to the Methodist Church: “All the staff and residents at Magdalen Park were delighted to welcome Barbara Gray from the church to the home last week. Barbara has donated money to the Residents’ Fund from the carol singing event on Christmas Eve.

It was extremely generous of Barbara and the Hedon Methodist Church for thinking of us and we will be buying lots of activities for the residents within dementia care as well as throughout the home to enjoy.”
