GREETINGS from the Three Kings!
This Christmas trio – Liz Pollock, Cate Beech, and Minister the Reverend Colin Plenderleith – welcomed me to Hedon Methodist Church on Saturday for the children’s Christmas creative session known as ‘Messy Church’.
The Three Kings were created by Liz and her Mum Cate in just a few hours. Liz said modestly: “It’s just an old parcel box with holes cut in and decorated”, but of course there was much more to it than that with some real creative flair shown. That creativity was typical of that displayed by the children themselves who had made some fantastic Christmas decorations!
Ava Johnson (6) was there with her mum Jane and friend Martha Wharton (7) but both girls were far too busy making their Christmas cards to pose for photographs! Cate Beech (without her King’s cut-out costume this time!) admires the cards.
It certainly was a messy church on Saturday with all the raw materials scattered around the tables, and there was a real buzz of chatter and excitement from the children as they completed their Christmas decorations.
The Methodist Church promises a warm welcome to all those who want to get involved in its Christmas programme of activities – and that warm welcome was certainly on display on Saturday!
