WHILST we know that many Hedon Blog readers keep tabs on what’s happening in the wider district via HU12 Online, we thought it was worthwhile highlighting two recent articles for the local Hedon audience.

Matthew Grove Police and Crime Commissioner for HumbersideA Crime Reduction Fund has been launched by Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Grove. Grants will be available for community and voluntary organisations for projects that can help keep communities safe and free from crime. The crime reduction fund can be applied for anytime and can be used for both equipment and running costs of a crime reduction project. More at: Commissioner launches £1.5m Crime Reduction Fund for community projects.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has received funding from the Government to create a Potholes Fund to fill in potholes. Find out more: Pothole filling fund boost for East Riding.

The important thing about potholes, is that the East Riding Council needs to know about them! Therefore this would seem an opportune time to remind local residents to make sure that they report potholes on www.fixmystreet.com or direct with the East Riding at www.eastriding.gov.uk/do/.

Keep the Hedon Blog informed of any plans or ideas for Crime Reduction projects… and get those potholes reported!
