“Spring Forward, Fall Back”

BRITISH SUMMER TIME (BST) starts on the last Sunday in March. It begins at 1am on Sunday 30th March 2014 when the clocks are put forward to 2am.

As a result of the clocks going forward, there will be more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings.

British Summer Time operates from the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October.  An easy way to remember whether the clocks go backwards or forwards, is the US saying “Spring Forward, Fall Back”.

“Fall” is the US word for Autumn.

  1. Why wait for summer? The idiots who ruin sunny afternoons are already shattering the peace, riding illegal motorbikes on the railway line and the field where people walk their dogs or ride horses.
