THE FIRST eleven registered their fourth successive win as they added North Ferriby CC to their list of scalps, having the visitors back in the pavilion for only a moderate 140 all out, going onto register an easy eight wicket victory in good time.

Run scorers were Skipper Rich Ingram, with a superb unbeaten 85, with eleven boundaries and 2 sixes, with fine support coming from wicket keeper and left-hander, Jamie Walkley, who crashed also two big sixes in his 20, before he fell being LBW.

Cricket History imageThe An Xl progressed in the York Eastern Conference Dave Conner 20/20 Cup Tie, as they restricted visitors to Middle Lane, Kirk Ella ll to 113 all out, as left arm seamer Andy Kunkel created mayhem by collecting 5 for 18, supported by occasional bowler Phil Hill who claimed 2 for 8 in support. Only K Cudbertson with a solid 26 and R Gosletlow with his 27, offered real resistance.

Earlier, the home side had totalled 135 for 4 in their allotted overs, with Scott Crane cracking a fine unbeaten 57 together with former Roos CC player Jamie Walkley lending real support with his four big sixes in his pleasing 37, as the Willerby side’s attack had generally a poor day.

The semi finals will take place at Fenner CC ground on Sunday 28th July.

The An Xl experienced a good success , to complete the double over Hull Zingari CC lll, this time by an eight wicket margin at Chanterland Avenue. Ian Harrison wrecked the Hull side’s batting returning excellent figures of 5 for 31, with only Max Caplin (37), Tom Hales (22) and Tom Holding (20) offering any resistance, their 36 overs realising 110 all out.

Vice Captain Gary Chapman with his solid 39, and Steve Crane’s valuable 42 saw the finishing post reached off some 26 overs. This result sees the Hedon outfit in third place in the table, some 65 points adrift of the leaders Gilberdyke, albeit Holderness do have a game in hand, with eight matches still to come, before the season winds up for them on 24th August.
