PARENTS AND CHILDREN should note that Thursday 16th May 2013 is the annual Hedon Penny Throwing ceremony outside the Town Hall on Saint Augustine’s Gate!

This peculiar tradition involves the newly appointed Hedon Mayor and his/her civic party, distributing – throwing! – money to children who gather on Hedon’s main road.

So if you want to take part in history, if you want to gather some of the Mayoral pennies, if you want to have some fun – make sure you are outside the Town Hall before 7pm on Thursday 16th May.
